This Privacy Policy explains how Candidlyst ("Candidlyst," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our website and application (the "Service"). Candidlyst is currently operated by an individual and is not yet a formally incorporated business entity; references to "we" or "us" refer to that individual operator unless otherwise stated.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. We use a passwordless "magic link" login system, so we do not collect or store passwords.
Payment and credit information. We collect your credit balance and a log of your credit transactions (what action was taken, how many credits it cost, and when). We do not collect or store your payment card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.
Career and job search content. Candidlyst allows you to upload resumes, paste job descriptions, and generate tailored application materials. This content — including your resume bank, job preferences, background information, analyzed job postings, and generated documents — is stored only in your web browser's local storage on your own device. It is not stored on Candidlyst's servers.
AI processing. When you use a feature that requires AI analysis or generation (such as analyzing a job posting or generating a resume), the relevant content is sent, at the time of your request, to Anthropic, the provider of the AI model we use, for the sole purpose of processing that request. Candidlyst's own servers do not retain a copy of this content after the request is completed. Anthropic's own data handling policies apply to how they process this data during and after the request; you can review Anthropic's privacy policy for more detail.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your account
- Track and deduct credits for AI-powered actions you request
- Process payments for credit purchases
- Send you transactional emails (such as login links)
- Maintain and improve the Service
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on the following third-party services to operate Candidlyst:
- Supabase — for account authentication and storing your email, credit balance, and transaction log
- Stripe — for processing credit purchases
- Anthropic — for AI-powered analysis and document generation
- Resend — for sending transactional emails (such as login links)
- Cloudflare — for hosting the Service
Each of these providers may process limited data on our behalf as necessary to provide their part of the Service. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies if you'd like more detail.
4. Data Storage and Your Control Over It
Because your career data (resumes, job descriptions, analysis results, application library, etc.) lives only in your browser's local storage, you are in direct control of it. Clearing your browser's storage, using a different browser or device, or exporting/deleting this data yourself through the Service's export features will affect what is retained. We do not have a copy of this content to delete on our end, because we never received or stored it in the first place, except transiently while processing an AI request as described above.
For account-level information we do store (your email, credit balance, and transaction log), you may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at hello@candidlyst.com.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
The Service uses your browser's local storage to save your application data and settings, and uses standard authentication mechanisms (such as session tokens) necessary to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a user under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@candidlyst.com so we can address it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
